On 25 September 2021, the 2021 ASEAN-China Vocational Education Forum and Exhibition of Featured Cooperation Project, co-hosted by China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) and the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) was held in Guiyang. Dr. Liu Limin, President of CEAIE, Mr. Wang Yongli, Secretary-General of CEAIE, Mr. Chen Dehai, Secretary-General of ACC, Mr. Li Chun, Inspector of Vocational Education and Adult Education Department of Ministry of Education (MoE) of China, officials from ASEAN embassies to China and representatives from vocational education institutions attended the forum online and offline.
Mr. Chen Dehai stated that the Ministry of Education of China has launched a series of education reforms in recent years, especially vocational education reform measures. China will further enhance both quality and efficiency of vocational education by accelerating the construction of high-quality vocational education system as well as establishing and improving the Vocational Institution Entrance Examination System, the general-vocational education integration system, and the national qualifications framework system. He emphasised that ACC is willing to work with relevant parties to jointly build a long-term mechanism for vocational education exchanges and collaboration in the post-pandemic era to enhance the level of internationalism and core competitiveness of vocational colleges of both sides, better serve economic and social development and promote people-to-people bonds.
The forum also invited Chinese and overseas units in the fourth batch of characteristic cooperation projects of the “China-ASEAN Double Hundred Vocational School Strong Cooperation Flagship Program” to share experiences.
