ACC Representatives Attended the World Tourism Alliance·Xianghu Dialogue 2022

On 23-25 February 2023, the World Tourism Alliance (WTA)·Xianghu Dialogue 2022 was held in Hangzhou city, Zhejiang Province. Mr. Hu Heping, Minister of Culture and Tourism of China, Mr. Zurab Pololikashvili, Secretary-General of United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), Mr. Yi Lianhong, Secretary of CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Zhejiang Provincial People’s Congress, and Mr. Zhang Xu, Chairman of WTA attended the opening session and delivered speeches. Ms. Reyes Maroto Illera, Minister of Industry, Trade and Tourism of Spain delivered an online speech. Ms. Li Yaying, Deputy Director of Education, Culture and Tourism Division of the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) attended the dialogue and relevant activities upon invitation, and had an extensive exchange of views with participants on ASEAN-China tourism cooperation. More than 300 participants from 31 countries and regions attended the dialogue.

With the theme of “Harmonious Symbiosis: A New Paradigm for a New Tourism”, the WTA·Xianghu Dialogue 2022 consisted of keynote speeches, dialogue of ambassadors, dialogue of industry leaders, dialogue of innovative businesses, dialogue of science and technology sector, and several sideline activities. Topics covered by the dialogue included global tourism cooperation and innovative development, reform and innovation in tourism and the cultivation of new business styles, and digital transformation for destination building and enhancement. The dialogue also launched WTA Best Practices in Rural Revitalization through Tourism 2022.
